COLOR

Updated: Mar 27

The Mamianqun features vibrant colors, predominantly red and blue.

Red holds significant cultural symbolism in traditional Chinese culture, representing good fortune and happiness. Blue and green symbolized themes of growth, harmony, and fertility.

According to Han traditions, women typically don red skirts during festive occasions such as weddings and festivals.

During the Qing dynasty, blue Mamianqun became prevalent, reflecting the popular color choices of the era, often complemented by black and yellow.

The selection of colors in horse skirts often conveyed messages or expressed wishes, underscoring its role as a crucial aspect of cultural expression.
